NTNU classmates at TGIF

After yet another long week in language class, we all decided to head out to TGIF@Ximending for dinner. It was an extra special occasion because it was my classmate Florian's birthday on Thursday. Despite the food not coming on time and a few lost in translation orders, we had a great time. The place was packed and loud. The food was OK and fairly priced. We also learned so much about each other. Different professions, future plans and country of origin (of course). But it seems we all share a common educational mindset. Most grew up with chinese influence and culture. Some of them have scholarships, so they have to perform well. But we all agree Chinese is an important language for business. So we're all chasing the top of the class position at one of the best language universities in Taiwan. I've got a lot of studying ahead! :)

  1. Hello,

I really enjoy reading your blog. It seems like you have a great time studying at Taiwan and the adventures is absolutely fascinating. As a current grad student, all I am doing is studying and lab works. I can't help but envious of your adventures.

Just an opinion, you should type Chinese in your blog if you want improvement so desperately.

  3. I love the way you can travel so much and go to school simultaneously. I am thinking about doing the same thing after my graduation. I just feel unfortunate that as Chinese on the outside, my inside has already been implanted by westerner's culture and language.

Do you mind to tell me more about your program or just send me the link so I can get a general idea on the program's duration, tuition, and location, etc.

    Thanks

It doesn't matter if your implanted by western culture and language. The important thing is to be open minded and explore your Chinese hertitage. The program is called Mandarin Training Center at NTNU.http://web.mtc.ntnu.edu.tw/mtcweb/index.php?visitor=future-student&lang=en. $1000 USD per semester, 3 months each, in the heart of the Taipei city.
