Shida Teacher's Day

Today was Teacher's Day for Shida University. A day the teachers designate as their own holiday. So I had the entire day off to do anything I wanted. No, I didn't do anything fun. I just got some errands done and studied my chinese books. I'm saving my energy for this weekend in Kaoshiung. But at least since my homework is done and everything out of the way. I can enjoy a tasty dinner and a movie or two before bed. A few days ago I discovered a local chain (八方雲集) that sells these delicious pot stickers. My favorite is their curry pot stickers (咖哩鍋貼) with garlic dipping sauce. Mouth watering and soo cheap! $5 NTD each!

  1. Yum - is the curry in the wrap or in the meat? Or both? I'll have to try that the next time I make potstickers!

  2. It's in both. Not too strong of a curry flavor, but drastically different from the traditional pot sticker.

  3. Hmmm... I'll have to give it a try. Much easier to add curry in the stuffing, but to add it in the wrap, I'd have to buy the right flour and make from scratch! Time consuming!

  4. can't you just add curry powder to normal powder? I mean of course it still entails making your own dough from scratch. Good luck :)

  5. What is the name of the place that makes these? My husband and I found these little gems around Taiwan when we were there for a month in May and are dying to find the name of the place.

  6. It's called 八方雲集-鍋貼水餃專賣店. They have 100's of locations around Taiwan. Black letters over a orange label, white background.
